Rainbo Village development begins to take shape in Uptown

Rainbo Village

The Rainbo Village development in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, which broke ground about a year ago, is finally beginning to amass some critical bulk. It’s now possible to get an inkling of just how dramatically this 127-unit project, with a retail component and a range of housing styles including lofts and duplexes, will change the block of Clark Street just north of Lawrence Avenue. But perhaps the best feature of this development is the unchanging – we might even say eternal – view of St. Boniface cemetery to the east. The cemetery not only ensures unobstructed views for some Rainbo Village dwellers, it’s also a gorgeous slice of open space rich with city history.
