Rokas bringing contemporary condo building to Humboldt Park

2800 Chicago

Atproperties has started a VIP list for a new development called 2800 Chicago. The project’s developer, Rokas International, is obviously proud of its other development‘s location in the Motor Row District, but Rokas is claiming 2800 Chicago is in Ukrainian Village (“on Chicago’s HOT west side”) when it’s actually in Humboldt Park. We have, of course, seen this trick before in many different neighborhoods.

In this rendering, the angular architecture looks very similar to Wabash Estates, but there’s a better rendering on the Web site (if you can sit through the requisite flash slide show of all the beautiful, happy people and expectant couples who will be buying condos in the building). It’s actually quite distinctive, with contemporary square boxes serving as bookends for the angles in the middle, large terraces and ground-floor retail space.
The 33-unit development has three-bedroom condos priced from the $340s to the $370s, and one parking space is included with each unit.
