When I put together a list of active new-construction condo developments in Irving Park a couple months ago, The Delano at 3553 – 3559 W Montrose Ave stuck out from the pack because it looks a bit more contemporary than the red brick developments that are typically found in that neighborhood.
Those balcony railings look similar to some that we’ve seen at a couple of smaller developments designed by Vari Architects, including 2500 South Halsted and 1217 West Augusta, but Melanie Giglio, the Sergio & Banks Real Estate agent handling sales, didn’t have the name of the architect available when we spoke yesterday.
Construction on both buildings wrapped up in September, according to Giglio, and six of the 16 condos in the development are still for sale. The remaining homes have two or three bedrooms and two full baths, but because they all have the same footprint, they all have roughly the same square footage, which is 1,400 to 1,450 square feet. Prices run from the $270s to the $290s.
The developer, Ultimate Development, also owns a new cabinet company called Novaroom Cabinets, and they are installing custom cabinetry in the kitchens.
