Seneca Park, in Streeterville

Tourists who don’t wander off Michigan Avenue will miss the delightful Seneca Park, a tree-studded oasis with a playlot beloved by the local kids.

The playlot is formally named the Eli M. Schulman Playground and sits directly across the street from the site of Eli’s Restaurant known to generations of Chicagoans for its cheesecake. Schulman and his wife, Esther, were instrumental in the renovation of Seneca Park. You can think of it as the park that cheesecake built.
