The first-time buyer: Streetside sex appeal

Bridgeport bungalowWe’re a shallow, looks-obsessed society. When our real estate agent bombards my email inbox with home listings I pounce on them, shuddering at the ugly houses and drooling over the hotties.

How important is curb appeal to the average buyer? I’d say it’s pretty important. I think this Bridgeport baby here is damn cute, but if we decide to buy a bungalow we want one that’s already dormered up. I’m not jazzed about living right next door to a really huge place, either (see building on the right).

Anyone had a good tuckpoint lately? How much did it cost, and did it turn out like you hoped?
