Somewhere on Chicago’s south side, near a university, you’ll find ChiKat. In addition to the dog, she has fish — but she thinks of them as an appliance. She smiles at her neighbors, trying her best not to scream gentrification, and writes a very readable journal about life in her neighborhood.
Her building needs two more live-in owners and ChiKat’s journal may just be charming enough to entice you to become one of them — if you can figure out where she lives.
