The Skokie Lagoons are seven inter-connected lagoons with a total area of 190 acres. They were built by thousands of Civilian Conservation Corps workers in the 1930s.
The lagoons are up to 16 feet deep and reported to be a great spot for fishing for bass, walleye, northern pike, channel catfish, bluegill and bullheads.
Private rowboats, sailboats, kayaks and canoes are allowed and can be launched from the ramp south of Tower Rd. You can exit at Tower Rd headed southbound on the Edens, or at Willow Rd headed northbound.
