Trump gets loan advance on schedule

Trump International Hotel and Tower at 401 N Wabash St in River North, ChicagoSpeaking to the press last week, attorney Steven Schlesinger predicted that despite a lawsuit that has been filed against Donald Trump, a construction loan would be advanced either last night or this morning. Schlesinger, it turns out, knew what he was talking about. Today, Crain’s is reporting that Deutsche Bank Trust Co. Americas advanced $13.2 million to Trump yesterday for his 92-story Trump International Hotel and Tower at 401 N Wabash Ave.

Deutsche Bank has filed suit against Trump demanding that he make good on a $40-million personal guarantee that he signed last winter. Schlesinger took news of yesterday’s loan draw as a good omen, telling Crain’s that it “seems to indicate that they do intend to fund construction until completion.”

Now that Trump has more cash, where’s that 227-foot spire that Blair Kamin has been clamoring about?
