A turret sits atop the vintage building at 3700 N Clark St, occupied on the ground floor by the restaurant Tuscany.
A block up, a relatively new residential building at 3836 N Clark St also has a turret. It’s hard to say if the architect meant to echo the older design, but that’s how it appears. Both turrets have vertical bands of protruding brick, both have long, narrow windows, and both are on the southeastern corner of their respective buildings. It’s one small example of how the city remakes itself according to a version of its past.
