When we posted a rendering of Urban Sandbox, eight single-family houses from Ranquist Development and JODI Development, quite a few Yo readers leapt in to praise the project’s modern design. Here are a few more renderings of the interiors and the back decks (pictured above), which contain the eponymous sandboxes.
These decks sit on top of four-car tandem garages. Other outdoor space includes roof decks, terraces off some master bedrooms and courtyard spaces cut into the sides of each house, according to Karen Ranquist of RCR Realty, which is marketing the project. Expansive windows overlook the courtyards, she adds.
Urban Sandbox is under construction at 1611 – 27 N Wolcott Ave. Two architects worked on the project: Osterhaus-McCarthy Architects designed the houses at the north and south ends of the site, and Studio Dwell designed the paler, more vertical houses in the center, according to John Searls of JODI Development.
Prices range from just under $2.4 million to just over $2.7 million. So far one house has sold, Ranquist says.
