For starters, get a list of local home inspectors by punching in your ZIP code at the American Society of Home Inspectors. Have your agent recommend three home inspectors, and strike them from the list. Start calling the rest of the list. Ask the inspectors which agents recommend them. If the inspector names agents that recommend him, strike him from the list.
