Francesca Rose took me on a walking tour of Lake Shore Drive condos and co-ops, from Michigan Avenue east and south to the Chicago River.
In this segment of our tour we look first at The Mayfair, the only condominium building on the highly sought-after, architecturally cohesive landmarked stretch of East Lake Shore Drive. The other buildings are held in cooperative ownership. We proceed on to 199 E LSD, a pre-World War I building built as rental apartments and converted to a co-op in 1995. Our final stop is 209, whose most famous resident was advice columnist Ann Landers.
