A beautiful day for building in River North

Not everything has hit a standstill out there, as evidenced by today’s weather. I shucked the winter coat, wandered around the neighborhood after lunch, and found plenty of activity at three sites. Silver Tower (above), located at 303 W Ohio St, is almost completely enclosed in glass at this point. We were planning to wait until all the windows were in before posting another picture, but things were awfully slow around there for the past three weeks. With the sun out and the temperature on the rise, I’m betting the pace will start to pick up.

Work is also continuing at the sites of the neighborhood’s newest rental towers: Flair Tower, located next to the elevated Brown / Purple Line tracks at 216 W Erie St, and Parc Huron, at 469 W Huron St. About five stories of garage space are up at the former, but crews are still pushing dirt and doing foundation work at the latter.

I found this posting on craigslist under real estate:
“Chicago based real estate company is seeking a broker to handle all aspects of a boutique condominium project in River North. The building has been completed with approximately 125 units unsold. An experienced residential real estate broker with a graduate-level degree would be preferred. Please email your resume.”

I was just curious if the Silver tower was this development.

Love the Ronsley building in the background of the photo for 469 Huron…

Any update on how nothing will sell at that building. The developers seem to be blaming the brokers as it is the 3rd one now marketing the highly overpriced units

Dan,

I’d say it sounds more like 757 Orleans, although I have no actual knowledge.

I thought 469 Huron is now rentals…

Which explains the prices of $1500-$3600.

It also explains the inclusion of the phrase “the neighborhood’s newest rental towers” in the second graf, Stokes. ;)

You gotta realize people don’t read the 2nd paragraph on postings! It was too long :)
