A thin selection of studio apartments in the South Loop

by Joe Zekas on 3/14/12

If you’re looking to rent a studio apartment in the South Loop for immediate or April 1st occupancy, you don’t have a lot of options, and it doesn’t take long to figure that out.

It takes only a few minutes to scan YoChicago’s at-a-glance list and map for the South Loop, home in on the buildings with studio units, and click the links for properties that have availability info and pricing online. Here’s what you’ll learn:

1401 South State has one studio available, for $1,525. AMLI 900, 900 S Clark St has 5 units available, priced from $1,382 to $1,647. The Fisher Building, 343 S Dearborn St, has just one unit available, renting for $1,425.

2101 S Michigan, an income-restricted building, has a studio available for $629.

Astoria Tower and Twelve Twelve South Michigan have studio units, but don’t have pricing and availability online.

There are no studios currently listed for rent in the South Loop in the MLS, but you can find a selection of 1-bedroom condos at comparable rents for studio apartments in managed apartment buildings. Scroll down to the bottom of our at-a-glance list for links to sites (clients of ours) where you can search MLS-listed rentals.

Apartment availability and rent info changes frequently. Sign up for YoRents, our online speed-dating service for renters and landlords, and landlords will notify you through our database when they have an apartment that meets your requirements.

If you have too much time on your hands, you can always waste a lot of it sorting through the bait-and-switch ads on Craigslist.
