Sales update: The Blond of Rogers Park 40 % sold

The Blond Condominium, 2000 W Greenleaf Ave

How many blonds does it take to sell a condo? Just one, if you count The Blond, a 33-unit conversion of a 1920s blond brick apartment building at 2000 W Greenleaf Ave. (That’s our attempt at a blond joke. How ’bout it?) Approximately 40 percent of the condos have been sold, according to Jerry Young of Mak Realty Group, Inc., the brokerage marketing the project.

Kitchens at The Blond feature granite counters, stainless steel appliances and cherry cabinets. The condos have hardwood floors throughout, in-unit laundry and balconies per plan.

Although the New City Builders, Inc. development doesn’t have on-site parking, Young says street parking is rarely a problem since the neighborhood is dominated by single-family homes. A Metra stop is two blocks away, and the CTA’s Red Line is five blocks away, he adds.

Prices range from $159,900 to $319,900, with one- to three-bedroom floor plans that have one or two bathrooms. Those eligible can also qualify for Chicago’s First-Time Homebuyer Program.
