Erik's excursions: strolling around Uptown

I recently conducted a walking tour of Uptown on the Far North Side to get a sense of its “walkability.” At WalkScore.com, Uptown gets a rating of 92 of 100, the fifth most walkable neighborhood in Chicago.

In the first video of the series, you’ll see construction and the green rooftops of Wilson Yard, a development under construction at Montrose Avenue and Broadway. Then I’ll walk you from the Wilson Red Line stop north on Broadway, noting the occupied and vacant store fronts. Thai, sushi and a Borders bookstore are some of the highlights from this block.
