After seeing our corner one-bedroom showcase from a couple of weeks ago, reader Cg asked for more floor-plan comparisons. Today, I pulled similarly sized one-bedroom floor plans from three South Loop rental developments — Burnham Pointe, Amli 900, and Roosevelt Collection.
Burnham Pointe at 730 S Clark St
Tier 12: One-bedroom / one-bath, 816 square feet, from $1,765 a month.
Amli 900 at 900 S Clark St
Tier “Trendy”: One-bedroom / one-bath, 779 square feet, from $1,610 a month.
Roosevelt Collection at 150 W Roosevelt Rd
Tier D: One-bedroom / one-bath, 786 square feet, from $1,632 a month.

Does anybody actually like walking through the kitchen to get to the living spaces in so many new apartments? I hope there are storage rooms outside of the units, because there is precious little in these…
Just my wacky critique of current residential layouts.
Sheridan B,
These don’t rank among the worst we’ve seen.
Some units almost hark back to the days when you had no closet and hung your clothes on pegs on the wall or folded them in a chest of drawers.
From everything I hear most new units in prime areas will continue to shrink in size. Tokyo here we come.
I know – we’re heading for London/NYC standards unfortunately.
