Down to two at 340 on the Park

One thing I failed to mention in my Lakeshore East posts this month is that one of the development’s high-rises, the 62-story 340 on the Park, is just a couple purchases away from sellout.

Only two of the 344 condos at 340 E Randolph St are still for sale, says sales consultant Molly Sundby. One, a 2,360 square-foot penthouse on the building’s 59th floor (seen above), is priced at $1.91 million. The other, a 2,750 square-foot home on the 56th floor, is listed at $2.2 million.

From the looks of things, both homes run almost the full length of the tower’s south side. They’re wide, but not deep; the dining area in this unit looks a little cramped (at least on paper), and the easternmost terrace turns the footprint of the 31 x 11′-6″ master bedroom into something akin to a Tetromino. Still, it’s hard to complain about 376 square feet of outdoor space overlooking Millennium Park, even if three of those terraces are only 3′-8″ deep. After all, you’re paying for location, right?

Deliveries at 340 on the Park began last summer. Two other Lakeshore East projects, the 81-story Aqua and the 25-unit Parkhomes, are under construction and will be ready for deliveries starting in 2009.
