Let there be light at South Loop highrise Vetro

vetroblog.jpgWe’re intrigued by the design of the units at the upcoming South Loop project Vetro. Architect and developer Roszak/ADC has taken inspiration from the work of a number of European architects, and plans to install moveable glass walls within the units so that residents can configure their living space in a number of different ways and create multiple interplays of shade and light.

We also hear that the lobby will have a real sense of occasion to it, with plans to feature a tall, striking sculpture by John David Mooney.

Glass has become the developers’ material of choice these days, in great part because it is less expensive and more energy-efficient than masonry. It’s good to see a developer really trying to maximise glass to its full potential. We await Vetro’s unveiling with interest.
