Millennium Park – the book hits shelves June 1

millennium park.jpgCan’t wait to hit the grassy grounds of Millennium Park for a bit of outdoor reading this summer? Stop by your local bookstore first and pick up a copy of “Millennium Park: Creating a Chicago Landmark” by Timothy Gilfoyle, available from June 1. The book, which is more a biography of a space than purely a book about a park, takes the reader all the way back to 1850, when the site of Millennium Park was still part of Lake Michigan. Of course, the book devotes ample space to the architects and designers Frank Gehry, Anish Kapoor, Jaume Plensa and Kathryn Gustafson.
