It took awhile, but The Granville, the mixed-use complex underway on the northeast corner of Granville and Broadway in Edgewater, is finally amassing some critical bulk. In June, when we last checked on The Granville’s progress, work had just begun. The project broke ground in January, after several years of permit negotiations between developer Access Group Chicago and the city.
Although the work is still fairly preliminary, walking past the site gives you an inkling of just how much denser and busier this corner will become when it’s occupied by four levels of retail – not to mention the 160 condos above.
