A reader recently used our handy tip line to ask for a status update on Parkside of Old Town, the 800-home development that’s replacing part of Cabrini-Green. Parkside is just a short jaunt north from the Yo office, so Patrick and I decided to stop in at the project’s sales center at 465 W Division St to get the latest figures.

Sales at Parkside’s two Phase 1 condominium buildings, The Hudson (left) and The Cambridge, are hovering around 80 percent, says Catherine Hughey, director of sales. Phase I also includes 72 townhouses, of which 75 percent have sold.

That’s not a lot different from what Yo reported back in May. At that time, Hughey said approximately 75 percent of Parkside’s Phase I homes had sold.

Click to enlargeCondos have one to two bedrooms and one to two baths and range in price from the $260s to the $590s. Townhouses have two to three bedrooms, two to three baths, one- to two-car attached garages; prices run from the $490s to $750s.

Deliveries should begin at The Hudson in June, with deliveries at The Cambridge following later in the year. Construction on Phase II should begin by the end of the year, and a pair of apartment buildings will open sometime in 2009, Hughey says.

Kimball Hill Urban Centers is developing Parkside of Old Town through partnerships with Holsten Real Estate Development Corp and the Cabrini-Green LAC Community Development Corp.
