Old Irving Park’s Race House now also listed for rent

The Race House, a Chicago landmark at 3945 N Tripp in Old Irving Park has been on and off the market for just over 4 years.

The 4-level home has 5 bedrooms, 4 full and 2 half baths, and 4 fireplaces. It had been abandoned at one point and is now described as having been completely renovated. The home is on a 50 x 75 lot.

In January of 2009 the asking price was just shy of $1.2M. It reduced to $947K last October, was briefly delisted, and is now back on the market at $779K. The home is also available for rent at $4,800 a month. Koenig & Strey’s Heather Lange has the listings.

You can read some of the home’s history, and the changes it’s undergone – including a move from its original site – at Wikipedia. The home has also been the subject of discussion several times at CribChatter.
