One of Lake Forest’s earliest homes is for sale

The Italianate mansion at 660 Sheridan Rd, one of the oldest homes in Lake Forest, was just listed for sale at $3,999,999. It’s one of four homes honored by the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation (LFPF) in celebration of Lake Forest’s 150th birthday.

The 7,066 square foot, 7-bedroom, 5 full, 2 half-bath home on 2.47 acres was built for Hannah and Harvey Thompson in 1860-61. Harvey Thompson was Lake Forest’s first mayor, an original trustee of the Lake Forest Association, and a member of the first Board of Trustees of Lake Forest University. You can read more of the history in the LFPF Summer Newsletter.

Coldwell Banker’s Marcia Rowley has the listing.
