From this morning’s e-mail:
I … did flips and short sales on the south side until early 2007. By then, the vast majority of flips had at least one crook in it and the end was near. I got drunk one day and had a serious talk with myself about my need to either get crooked or get out.
I got out. Well, not really. I simply continued to drink a little too much and watch deal after deal either fall apart or get done by a mortgage broker and appraiser team using straw buyers. But at least I can say that I didn’t contribute (much) to the thousands of board-ups on the south side, right? … drives off in his sensible car ….
