Renovated penthouse homes at 1400 Lake Shore Drive available at discount

1400 N Lake Shore Dr, Chicago After reading yesterday’s post about Jameson Real Estate’s new marketing efforts at 1400 Lake Shore Drive, Coldwell Banker agent Matt Garrison e-mailed me some information about some renovated penthouse units he’s still marketing at the Gold Coast tower.

These 22nd-story homes aren’t large — studios have as little as 284 square feet in some instances, and one-bedrooms top out at just under 700 square feet — but they feature “superior finishes to other renovated units in the project” and would make great in-town apartments, Matt says. The homes have hardwood floors, maple cabinets, stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops, and slate bathrooms with glass-enclosed showers. Garrison is listing the homes for anywhere from 4 to 31 percent off their original prices. Studios once priced from the $140s to $180s are now priced from the $110s to $150s. The one-bedrooms have dropped from the $240s to $300s down to the $180s to $250s. Lakeside Bank is offering 90-percent loans at 6 percent for these particular units, Matt says.

Two of the floor’s 11 studios have already sold, and all 10 of its one-bedrooms are still available. All but three of the homes are currently rented out, according to Matt’s price and availability sheet.
