The last subway station a northbound rider on the Red Line will encounter is the newly renovated North / Clybourn stop at the border of Lincoln Park and the Near North Side. In return for advertising rights and exclusive use of a bus turnaround, Apple agreed to refurbish the station’s exterior, interior, and platforms in 2009 and 2010 during the construction of a new Lincoln Park Apple Store next door.
Travelers getting off the train at North / Clybourn can quickly reach a variety of box stores to the north and west, the northern edges of Old Town and the Gold Coast, and world-famous destinations like the Steppenwolf Theatre and Grant Achatz’s Alinea, recently named the sixth-best restaurant in the world.
