River North vista – sliver tower

You can’t count River North among the neighborhoods that serve up nothing but bland vistas.

In River North, warehouse-era lofts stand side-by-side with glass towers, honky-tonk billboards, parking lots, panoramic skyline views and restaurants braying for tourists.

If you enter River North from the Ohio Street off-ramp, as many do daily, Silver Tower looms large in your field of view. From the fire escape outside my office, where I escape the smoke-free environment to fire up, the high-rise is a mere sliver.
