The air up there: Park views from a Columbian penthouse deck

From the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Roosevelt Road, nothing blocks your view down the length of Grant Park. Climb up 41 stories, and you can take in not just the park’s length, but its breadth, stretching from one Michigan (the avenue) to another (the lake), as well the sights of the Museum Campus and the upper reaches of Soldier Field.

I shot these three pictures from the east-facing deck of an unfinished penthouse at The Columbian, 1160 S Michigan Ave. The Columbian’s sales staff continues to market a number of immediate delivery homes that have received price cuts of $80,000 to $189,600.
