Major high-rises are under construction at prominent locations throughout the city, but perhaps none has the visibility of One Museum Park, under construction at 1215 S Prairie Ave. With thousands of tourists daily pouring over Lake Shore Drive on their way to the Museum Campus, the location can be a sort of architectural welcome mat to the city. Thankfully, then, The Enterprise Companies and architect Pappageorge / Haymes eschewed the snoozers that dominate Museum Park in favor of a more adventurous design. The curves and folds of the 65-story high-rise are already evident with construction little more than halfway to the top, but it remains to be seen whether the tower will be the masterpiece the rendering promises.
The building is about 95 percent sold, according to Enterprise’s Karen Juneau, and remaining units are priced from $1.3 million to $1.7 million. Construction has also begun on the adjacent west tower, which is about 75 percent sold.
