When I spoke with Ken Jungwirth from Rubloff Residential Properties about the development at 4420 N Clark St in Uptown, he reminded me that Berger Development owns the property across the street as well. Plans were announced about a year ago for the construction of an 18-unit condo development at 4421 N Clark St that, judging from the rendering at right, looks very similar to the brick building across the street, but nothing has developed since then.
Jungwirth says the developer is waiting out the market and hopes to get started on that development sometime next year. “He always says it’s easier to hold the land than to start drawing on that construction loan,” he says. “He’ll probably have to wait until the market shakes out a bit, and maybe come spring he’ll see if the climate has changed enough.”
If it’s built, that development will have 18 two- and three-bedroom condos with “cool zen finishes” that will be priced from the $330s.
