A brief look at southern Glencoe’s Woodlawn Ave

Home prices have fallen on the North Shore over the past several years, and Glencoe is no exception. The median list price, however, is still above $1 million. The median sales price in October, reflecting the relative stagnation in higher-priced sales, was just shy of $800K, according to Redfin stats.

A number of homes have sold recently in the $600s and $700s (and well below that range) in southern Glencoe, the eastern stretch of which is within easy walking distance of Winnetka’s Hubbard Woods shops and Metra station. Homes currently on the market in the area start at just shy of $400K for a property perhaps in need of a gut rehab.

One factor that depresses prices in southern Glencoe, as you’ll see in the above video drive along Woodlawn Ave, is that many of the homes have only 1-car garages.
