Autumn Green: new seniors condos on S. Side

Citing a need for moderately priced maintenance-free seniors housing in city neighborhoods, Senior Lifestyle Corporation has started sales at Autumn Green at Midway Village, a community of 72 condominiums at 67th and Cicero, in West Lawn.

The community is the first of its kind in the neighborhood, according to the developer, offering a new housing option that allows buyers aged 55 and over to stay in the community.

The development includes six two-story buildings of 12 condominiums each. The seven available floor plans offer 867 to 1,281 square feet one or two bedrooms, one to two baths, private storage space and attached one-car garages, base priced from $155,500 to $196,500.

“Up until now, West Lawn seniors seeking maintenance-free living have had to rent or move out of the neighborhood, but this community is a totally new concept in which seniors can enjoy the financial benefits of homeownership and live among familiar surroundings,” said Bill Kaplan, chairman and CEO of Senior Lifestyle Corporation.

Autumn Green’s floor plans were designed to ease the transition from a single-family home, according to Matt Garrison, of the Matt Garrison Group, a part of Coldwell Banker and the exclusive sales agent for Autumn Green.

The homes have front and rear entries, multiple closets and in-unit washers and dryers. All of the condos also have eat-in kitchens that include refrigerators with icemakers, dishwashers, gas ranges, microwaves and garbage disposals.

A sales center is open on site, at 6700 S. Keating.
