Belgravia adding 11 new stories of condos to 7-story West Loop loft building

Talk about making the most of a site. Belgravia Group is adding 11 stories of new-construction condos to an existing seven-story loft building in the West Loop in a development called 565 Quincy. Be the first person to guess its exact location and Yo will send you a free bumper sticker!

The existing loft building, about a block from Union Station, is currently being used as commercial space but will be converted to one- and two-bedroom loft condos on the fifth through seventh floors. Building new floors atop old loft buildings has become common, but usually the addition is of no more than two to half a dozen stories. Belgravia Group‘s add-on of 11 new-construction floors represents growth of more than 150 percent in the building profile, making it the Six-Milliion-Dollar-Man of loft conversions.

The lofts are priced from the $270s for one-bedrooms and from the mid-$300s for two-bedrooms. Condos on the new-construction floors will be priced from the $190s for studios, from the mid-$200s for one-bedrooms and from the mid-$300s for two-bedrooms.
