Joe Askins walks the 4400 block of North Albany Street with friend Loran McDonald. McDonald, who grew up in Wilmette and has lived in several Chicago neighborhoods, bought his first home, a two-bedroom condo, in late 2008. As they walk they walk the block, Joe and Lo talk about the experience of buying a first home and the reasons Lo picked the Albany Street location over the dozens of other condos he visited during his home search.
