Buyers choose between contemporary and traditional finishes at Winnemac Terrace

Selecting a set of finishes that other people want to live with in is no easy task, so in an effort to appeal to a broader pool of buyers at Winnemac Terrace, agent-developer John Cleary is letting buyers choose between a “traditional” or “contemporary” style of finish.

According to the development Web site, the traditional homes will have “an abundance of crown molding and wainscoting,” while the contemporary homes will have “clean straight lines and plenty of taste and style.”

“We deliberately did the contemporary to fit the style of the neighborhood,” Cleary says, but he says that both units are very well received.

Cleary says that a different developer purchased the six-unit building at 1216 W Winnemac Ave in Uptown two years ago and ran into some trouble, so Cleary’s development team took it over. The development has only been on the market for two weeks, but already one home has been sold and another is under contract.

Two of the four remaining homes are 2,600 square-foot duplexes with three bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a 10′ x 10′ office. The other two homes are 1,300 square-foot two-bedroom / two-bath condos. The single-floor units are priced from the $300s to the $390s, the duplexes are both priced in the $430s, and outdoor parking is priced at $10,000. Cleary says all of the homes can be delivered in 30 to 60 days.
