Chicago buyers shouldn't be afraid to ask for deals

Deals and incentives abound in the current housing market, but not everyone is offering them, and experts say buyers would be well-advised to ask for what they want when they aren’t offered it. Some developers prefer to make deals in person rather than advertise them in the newspaper just in case the market rebounds in early srping and they decide to withdraw the incentives, says James Kinney, president of Rubloff Residential Properties.

“Free appliances, free back rubs, a month’s assessments — if the market rebounds, it’s harder to take it away if it’s advertised out there,” Kinney says.
