Chicago condo buyers must come out of the closet

If buyers can expect to see smaller condos on the Chicago market this year, because of increased construction costs and the like, how exactly will they be shrunk?

Every little bit of space counts, so the walk-in closet will be the first thing to go, we hear. Maybe they should just retain the closet and start calling it the second (or first and only) bedrooom.

Just as we were starting to get into the whole “my kitchen’s got to be bigger than yours” trend, we’re told we’ll also have to kiss goodbye the kitchen island.

Where else can you shave off a few feet? We wonder. Maybe entryway configurations will be next, or we might start seeing more galley kitchens.
