Chicago rent barometer: lakeside pads for summer

lakesidepadsblog.jpgIf you’re weary from trying to kick your a / c into action, and don’t want to hang out with the seniors at the city’s cooling stations, check out these apartments that apparently come with lake views. There’s a one-bedroom that’s across the street from four beaches (that enough for you?) for $595, on Juneway Terrace (formerly known as the Juneway Jungle, of course, for its plethora of crack houses, although Yo hears the area is cleaning up its act) in Rogers Park. Then there is a newly-renovated studio on Lake Shore Drive at Roscoe with views of Belmont Harbor for $665, or
two-bedroom units for $2,000 just off Lake Shore Drive (although we suspect that this last ad is just a way to sucker you into using one of those rental agencies and lake views are only attainable by perching yourself on top of the toilet and craning your neck 270 degrees).
