Comment of the day: Wicker Park housing price increases don't tell whole story

“I’m sure most YoChicago readers are cognizant of this, but these numbers should be reviewed with a grain of salt. The single-family homes that sold in 1997 for $210K are not selling in 2007…in fact, I’m willing to wager that greater than 75% these properties have either been rebuilt or have been renovated beyond recognition. Either of these represents a major investment of capital.”
