Concept vs. execution: 1555 North Talman

Perhaps it’s too early to deliver a verdict on how 1555 North Talman stacks up to the architect’s rendering, because it’s pretty clear that the building was still under construction when the photo at right was taken, about a month ago. If that concrete masonry on the corner is painted brown, it will look a lot closer to the architect’s original vision.

@properties agent Sabrina Bier says the building at 1555 N Talman St in Humboldt Park is still under construction, but most of the work that remains to be done is pretty minor. She says the main entryway on Talman Street isn’t finished yet, and the developer will add a fence to hide those gas mains that are visible on Talman Street.

Below are a couple of colorful images I pulled from the Shangri-La Developers and Good Karma Construction Web site. Neither photo had a caption on the site, but the Moroccan-themed room in the photo at left looks like a lobby, as an elevator can bee seen in the background. The photo at right appears to be one of the building’s green roofs.
