Construction is moving along at 15 S Racine Ave in the West Loop, and Jason Vondrachek of Quest Realty says he expects most of the units to be ready for delivery in December.
Vondrachek says progress and sales at 15 Racine have stalled several times because the construction workers are constantly required to wait for city inspectors to come look at the place. They aren’t the only ones: Brian Morand of Baird & Warner mentioned a similar problem at 1400 – 1418 Chicago when I spoke with him on Friday, and he said it was keeping the developer from opening a model unit.
For Vondrackek and 15 Racine, it means that buyers that are looking to move soon and can’t wait are probably looking elsewhere.
Instead of setting up a model for 15 Racine, Vondrachek says he has a showroom in the Merchandise Mart. All of the condos at 15 Racine have three bedrooms and two baths, and they are priced from the $590s to the $670s. About half of the building’s eight condos have been sold.
