So, perhaps you haven’t heard. There’s this project called Lakeshore East. It’s got, y’know, high-rises. Lots of ’em. Okay, there are some townhouses too, but people speeding by on Lakeshore Drive aren’t going to be gawking at those. To a visitor returning after a ten-year absence, it might appear that the New East Side spontaneously birthed a set of skyscraping octuplets. Three buildings in the forest of bright, glassy high-rises are under construction now: The Chandler (left), 340 on the Park (background right) and rental development The Tides (far right). The sail-like Regatta (center) was recently completed, and the biggest and boldest building yet, the 82-story Aqua, is set to break ground soon.
