The Fairbanks at Cityfront Plaza has come a long way since we last posted on the project in January: construction is wrapping up on the 31-story tower, at 240 E Illinois St in Streeterville.
Developer Centrum Properties inherited the site from RM Chin & Associates, which only got as far as building a garage base before its Grand Pier project tanked. Centrum has converted floors three through eight of the old garage building into loft-style condos. Just above the base structure are “terrace homes” with private outdoor gardens. The remainder of the units are high-rise condos or penthouses.
Prices start in the $300s for the 240 one- to three-bedroom units, according to the project’s Web site.
