Did your balcony cost more than your parking space?

Perhaps it’s because I haven’t been paying close enough attention, but it strikes me that developers are getting more and more aggressive in stating the square footage of their units. And real estate brokers? Let’s not even go there.

It’s become common, for example, to include balconies – and who knows what else – in a unit’s stated square footage.

Are any developers or their architects using the American National Standards Institute recommended method for calculating square footage?
