Does the $300,000, new-construction home exist in Bridgeport?

Some things in this world seem too good to be true. For instance, you’d be hard pressed to find a lunch special under $5, no matter what the Streets and San Man says, or a barber who charges less than $10. And unless you’re moving to Coal City, Ill., a $300,000, new-construction, single-family home is even harder to find.

On a recent visit to Realtor.com, we took a look around the 60608 zip code, and this is what we found: A four-bedroom three-bathroom single-family home with a two-car garage for $299,900. The address is listed as 2506 S Senour St, which for us, even with the wind in our faces, is only about a pitching wedge from Pilsen – or a bad slice into Chinatown. The home is located in the Bridgeport Landings development. It ain’t exactly an easy walk to Shinnicks Bridgeport, but it is pretty close to the Orange Line Bridgeport.

CA Development‘s Web site says that the development is sold out, which means that this is a resale. So what gives? Why so cheap? And how?
