Three "stylish" homes still left at LP 625

LP 625

“Looking for stylish beginnings?” inquires the listing for CG Development‘s LP 625. “Here, you have found it in this 88-unit rehab in Lincoln Park.”

Yo readers haven’t found this brick fortress at 625 W Wrightwood Ave to be among Lincoln Park’s more stylish addresses. Former New Homes contributor Michael Austin anticipated the shame the building would bring its residents, saying, “You can never invite anyone over and never get dropped off because, of course, you wouldn’t want anyone to know you live there.”

Others have managed to look past the frumpy facade and window units to the price tag, which is by most standards quite affordable for Lincoln Park.

This conversion was first introduced to Yo in the summer of 2006, when prices ranged from the $140s to the $220s. Prices have tightened a bit since then: Two of the three units listed on the MLS are studios priced in the $140s and the $160s, and the third is a one-bedroom / one-bath priced in the $180s.

Exact square footage isn’t included in the listings, but the living room for the one-bedroom / one-bath is is 11′ x 11′, the kitchen is 7-6″ x 6′, and the bedroom is a cozy 9′ x 8′. If you suffer from claustrophobia, the studios might be a better option, because although they’re a bit smaller overall, at 15-6″ x 12-9″, the main living space is at least a little bit roomier than any of the rooms in that one-bedroom condo.
