Celebrate Louis Sullivan's 150th with architectural tours

Okay, so technically we should be celebrating the 150th anniversary of Louis Sullivan’s birth on Sept. 3, but, trust us, when the big 1-5-0 rolls around for one of the geniuses of architecture, you get to celebrate the whole year. Besides, the Chicago Architecture Foundation is throwing a whole slew of birthday-inspired celebrations by way of walking tours, and we thought you should get in on the action while the weather is still blisteringly nice. Check out the Carson Pirie Scott Tour, the Historic Skyscrapers Tour, the Auditorium Building Tour or, our personal favorite, Louis Sullivan: Lost and Found, which concentrates on Sullivan’s standing and fallen works in the Loop.
