Hyde Park condo conversion has holy neighbor

KAM Isaiah Israel Congregation Park Place on the Boulevard

Last week we saw new North Kenwood single-families that back up to a mosque; today, let’s take a look at a Hyde Park condo conversion with its own holy neighbor. Firebird Development is at the helm of Park Place on the Boulevard, which sits next door to the KAM Isaiah Israel Congregation. The organization says the synagogue, which was founded in 1847, is Chicago’s oldest. The courtyard building, located at 1118 E Hyde Park Boulevard, has 37 rehabbed condos with one to three bedrooms. Prices start in the $190s. We’ve wondered before about the benefits of living near a cemetery (nice and quiet except on Halloween, said Yo reader anon)– what do yo’all think about living a stone’s throw from a place of worship?
