Chicago quote of the day: no evidence of alleged bribery in Woodlawn

ChiKat, YoChicago’s writer in Woodlawn, jumped on the news that Ald. Arenda Troutman (20th) was arrested on charges of bribery “related to the placement of a strip mall in her ward.”

Reacting to the allegations, ChiKat quipped, “Apparently, the bribe didn’t work since one of my biggest complaints is that there AREN’T strip malls, or any other shopping venues, in the 20th ward.”

Check out the complete post, where ChiKat points us to a story in today’s Chicago Tribune and gives her take on Troutman’s place in the February elections.
